The research group focuses on sustainable underground practices, exploring the potential of geoenergy. A multidisciplinary team with expertise in energy recovery, data mining, geothermal energy, CCS and hydrogen technologies is developing cleaner, more efficient energy solutions at the intersection of geoscience, engineering and data analytics. The Research Group is a dynamic research group that aims to develop solutions in a range of areas including enhanced and improved energy recovery, data mining for underground exploration, geothermal energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and hydrogen production and storage technologies.

Our multidisciplinary team of experts collaborates at the intersection of geoscience, engineering and data analytics to uncover untapped potential beneath the Earth’s surface. From optimising energy recovery methods to harnessing geothermal energy and pioneering carbon technologies, the research team is at the forefront of a cleaner and more efficient energy landscape.

The Geoenergy Research Group, with its commitment to environmental sustainability and technological innovation, aims to bridge the gap between traditional energy practices and new sustainable solutions.
